Welcome to the official web site of Laboratory of Applied Entomology at the University of Tokyo.
The origin of Laboratory of Applied Entomology is back to 1947, when Dr. Teruo Yamazaki came to the University of Tokyo as associate professor. At the very early days of the laboratory, his group achieved significant progress in the studies about how insecticides affect neuronal physiology. Since then, the laboratory has been led by professors Yoshiaki Matsumoto (1973), Toshiaki Ikeshoji (1988), Sadahiro Tatsuki (1993), and Yukio Ishikawa (2010), producing numerous research papers in the field of entomology. During more than a half of century, we have been also accepting many students and postdocs from countries other than Japan. Alumni consists of a list of people actively working in academics, government, and companies.
